1. How do I charge a credit card?

Processing a card is simple. Please click here to read our tutorial.

2. How do I access my funds?

With your ProPay Account you can access the available balance several ways. These include transferring funds to your bank account and to another ProPay Account. Another option for Premium, or higher-level ProPay Accounts, is to use your linked Prepaid MasterCard® Card. You can use this card anywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted. With more than a million ATMs in over 210 countries you are never far from your money.

3. What type of credit cards can I accept?

All ProPay Accounts allow you to process Visa® and MasterCard® cards. Discover® and American Express® card acceptance is a feature of Premium, or higher-level ProPay Accounts. You may upgrade your account to accept these cards.

4. Does ProPay offer check processing?

ProPay does not currently offer check processing, but we are constantly adding new products and features.

5. Can I refund a credit card with ProPay?

Yes you can issue refunds using your ProPay Account’s available balance. There is a small fee of $0.35 or less per refund.

6. Can I transfer funds to any bank account I want?

Yes you can, as long as the account is a valid bank account within the U.S. and can accept incoming ACH transfers.

7. How are ProPay’s processing fees deducted?

Fees are automatically deducted from the amounts processed. For example, let’s say you need to process a MasterCard card for $10.00 using your ProPay Premium Account. This transaction would cost 3.25% plus a $0.35 per transaction fee. The total amount deposited into your ProPay Account would be $9.32.

8. Do I need a computer to use ProPay?

Yes, you need to have access to an internet enabled computer with a compatible web browser to access ProPay's website.

9. Can I access my ProPay Account using a touch-tone telephone?

Yes, ProPay does provide a phone processing system that will allow you to access limited features of your ProPay Account, available on Premium, or higher-level ProPay Accounts. The phone-processing system is limited to the following four types of actions:

1.    Process a credit card

2.    Transfer your funds to the bank account on file

3.    Check your account balance

4.    Edit  basic account information

11. Can I have funds automatically sent to my bank account?

No, all transfers to your bank account must be initiated by you from within your ProPay Account. Remember that the funds in your ProPay Account can be used for a variety of purposes.

12. Can I charge credit cards from outside the United States?

Depending on your account type, you may process Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, and American Express® branded cards from any country.  However, all transactions must be submitted in U.S. Dollars. The credit card associations will make the currency exchanges so your customer will be charged in his or her native currency.

13. What do my customers see on their card statements?

Your customers will see your business name (DBA) and evening phone number on their statements.

14. What kinds of reports are available?

ProPay offers numerous reports that detail your transactions. These reports are available online, but can be exported.

15. What are processing limits?

You'll notice the Processing Limits heading on your Member Home Page. Limits depend on your account type and history with ProPay. ProPay uses limits to control potential losses. There is no limit on the amount you can transfer into a bank account. You're only limited by the amount of money in your ProPay account.

16. Why are there processing limits?

ProPay is set up for individuals and small merchants, and is one of very few companies that offer online merchant accounts. These two factors combine to make ProPay's risk and security liability relatively high. We've successfully managed these concerns by restricting processing volume for new accounts. We are thus able to suppress potential fraud and disputed transactions very effectively.
